The space
This charming 100-year-old cottage located along Lake McQueeney** is a little sanctuary from the hustle and bustle. The bright, air ambience of this tranquil space includes original shiplap walls that have been painted bright white, a large clawfoot tub, vaulted ceilings and a gas fire pit that sits under towering cypress and pecan trees. And since this property is all about peace and "quiet", each sleeping space is outfitted with the extra comfy beds and high-quality, 100% cotton bed linens. Just under 1,000 square feet, this cozy cottage features one bedroom with a luxury queen mattress with a twin built-in bunk bed above and closes to the rest of the space with a large sliding barn door; a sleeping loft with two XL twin beds (no privacy door) and a sleeping porch with two additional twin beds (no privacy door). A wall of windows off the back of the house offers a serene view from every room of the home! The large dining table that seats six is perfect for family dinners or game night. The perfect family getaway and the cutest place for a girls' trip or bachelorette party.
Our little cottage is only 5 miles to Seguin and 9 miles to Schlitterbahn Water Park, historic New Braunfels and Gruene. Local attractions include Gruene Hall, Natural Bridge Caverns, the Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo, local wineries or rafting on the Guadalupe River. We are also just 15 minutes to the San Marcos Premium Outlets.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need for your stay including a gas range, dishwasher, coffee pot and ground coffee, French coffee press, crock pot, microwave and toaster. The refrigerator and washer and dryer are located in the front utility room. The farmhouse style bath has been updated with spa-like features a marble-topped antique vanity, a vintage cabinet turned into a bath closet stocked with plush cotton towels, complementary make up wipes, toothbrushes and ear plugs! Be sure to enjoy a long, "quiet" soak in the 66-inch-long claw-foot bath (original to the home) with our signature bath salts during your stay. Two comfy couches and a flat-screen TV make this a family-friendly getaway.
With a large front and backyard, there is plenty of room for a game of croquet, washers or tag. If the weather happens to not cooperate for plans outside, there are board games, cards, books and puzzles inside and plenty of cozy nooks for reading or taking a nap. Sitting around our gas fire pit overlooking the lake is a peaceful way to finish your day! A large farm table with 10 bistro chairs is the perfect place for family gatherings al fresco. A gas grill is available for use and is also under the covered patio on the side of the house.
This little retreat is ideal for special celebrations, family vacations or a getaway with the girls! Please let us know if you have any special requests during your stay or upon your arrival (such as flowers or a bottle of chilled bubbly) and we'll do our very best to make it happen!
**SPECIAL NOTE: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT LAKE MCQUEENEY WAS RECENTLY LOWERED FOR DAMN REPAIR. THE WATER IN FRONT OF OUR HOME IS DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY BUT WE STILL HAVE LOTS OF WATER (UP TO 8-9 FEET IN THE MIDDLE SECTION) FOR SWIMMING, FLOATING AND KAYAKING. WE BUILT A TEMPORARY DOCK WITH STAIRS AND A FLOATING PLATFORM THAT MAKES ACCESSING THE LOWERED LAKE MUCH EASIER.

NO Smoking: Smoking of any kind (including tobacco, marijuana, e-cigarettes, vape pens, and hookahs) is not allowed at this property. This applies to the entire house.
NO pets: Although we are pet lovers, this is a small property without fencing so pets are prohibited. A cleaning/service charge of $150 will be applied to anyone who breaks this rule. We have neighbors that have permanent residence next to our home who will let us know if pets are on property.
NO large parties allowed. We have neighbors that have permanent residence next to our home and will report back with excessive noise or groups that exceed the home limit. Parking: 4 cars allowed.
