Huge screened-in porch to sit in peace, have morning coffee/breakfast as you listen to birds chirping, squirrels and other wildlife waking up and starting their morning. More importantly, start your day as slow as the beautiful sweet-tea colored waters of the beautiful Escatawpa River (app. 200 ft. From porch) as it slowly passes you by on its way to the Gulf.
Once breakfast...
Start your day by putting a kayak in at nearby Escatawpa Hollow and spend the next 4-6 hours flowing down the scenic river, many sandbars to stop, swim and have a picnic. End your day on any of the l mile river sandbars adjacent to our property.
For “roughing camping" experience pitch a tent on the sandbar and sleep under the stars.
Build a fire (on the sandbar) and Roast hotdogs or use the grill provided.
Pull a small flat boat with trolling motor straight into the river and spend the day/night fishing (with licenses of course) for catfish, bluegill, bass,brime etc. Use fish cleaning faculty provided to prepare dinner.
End your day, back on the porch listening to whippoorwille, frogs, crickets, peace and quiet..nature.
Normally, the sweet-tea colored water provides plenty of opportunity for swimming, fishing, tying your float to a shaded limb and/or placing your favorite chair in the ankle deep water as you sit back, watch the kids and read your favorite book. For our adventurers/explorers/exercisers (try pulling a Kayak full of kids up the river against the current) the feeling of walking up and down the middle of the river exploring the nooks, turns and streams along the river is unlike any other adventure.
Rain or cold weather…no problem. Curl up on the porch or in front of fireplace, read a book, play a game, or take a nap as the rain falls on the tin roof. So relaxing.
Note: Owners HIGHLY recommend 4-wheel drive vehicle (especially due to temporary logging in the adjacent land) to reach this privately owned property. Renters must open/lock 2 gates to reach this private “Peace on the River”.

You have approximately a mile of river frontage with numerous sandbars.
Be aware Mother Nature can change the layout of the river overnight. Never assume it is the same as it was yesterday.
As in the ocean, river currents are real. Research and review how to survive a river current.
Never swim alone! Non swimmers and those 18 yrs and under should always wear a life jacket.
Enter the river at your own risk. NO Lifeguards!!!
