Nearby attractions include hiking at Smith Mountain located 1/2 a mile away, and Dare Power Park which is located about a mile away and has a public boat ramp. Smith Mountain offers a 270 degree breathtaking view of Lake Martin. Dare Power Park includes a boat ramp, playground, walking trails, picnic areas, and a walking track. Please note that we have several steps leading down to the lake. Please also note Lake Martin drops the water after Labor Day, and it doesn’t start rising again until around April. This means since we are in a slough, we do not have water during that time.
