The Orchard Cottage offers a quaint but large one bedroom, one bath get-away surrounded by fruit trees and flowering shrubs. While feeling secluded and private, it's just off the beaten path of the main streets of downtown Ocean Springs, minutes away from Front Beach, and a short drive over the bridge to the casinos.
Inside the cottage, the living area has plenty of seating with a flat screen TV, wet bar, and dining area. It also has some of the conveniences of home, such as a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and toaster oven. Cups, glasses, plates, and silverware are also provided. The bedroom boasts two comfy queen size beds and a newly remodeled bathroom with a walk-in shower. Wi-fi, along with a variety of stations on Roku, is complimentary! Outside the cottage, the deck has a large table and a stainless steel grill for your cooking pleasure.
A two-block walk, and you're in the mix and mingle of great shops, awesome restaurants, and a hopping night-life! Known for the art, the festivals, and the music, Ocean Springs has all of that and more to offer. Walk down the tree-lined streets, and you'll find numerous shops and restaurants, many with old-fashioned storefronts. Several museums and art galleries are also located downtown. Front beach , and Maurepas Landing are located less than a mile from the cottage - a great place to hang out, get some sun, and enjoy the view (especially the sunsets)!
The Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge is located nearby and is a great place to get in your afternoon walk, or simply use it to get to the casinos. Two of the casinos are located at the base of the bridge on the Biloxi side, one of which, The Palace, is non-smoking! And of course, great golf courses and exciting fishing trips are synonymous with the gulf coast.
So whether your looking for a quiet stroll along the tree-lined streets or wanting to attend some of the awesome festivals held downtown, Ocean Springs is the place to be, and the Orchard Cottage is the place to stay!
*Note: While being only 2 blocks from downtown and the historic L & N Train Depot, there is an active railroad located across the street from the property. We have lowered our rates compared to other properties nearby to accommodate for potential noise from the train. While that can be soothing to some, it can be bothersome to others, and yet, not heard at all by many! If you need complete silence to sleep, you may want to book elsewhere; however, we do provide earplugs to remedy the situation.
** There are 2 parking areas, one on a concrete pad in front of the property with just a slight hill to walk to the cottage; the other parking area is around the corner on the west side of the cottage next to a boat. There is a little bit more of hill to climb, but there are stepping stones along the path to the cottage (check out the pictures).
