Tucked away in the treetops of one of TN's oldest communities on the border of NC/TN, come enjoy breathtaking sunrise views and seclusion in this little slice of heaven sitting 2 miles up Stone Mountain at an elevation of 4,233.
Located near the Boone/High Country and Watauga Lake TN, close to ski resorts, waterfalls, wineries, trails and more. Overlook Nook will meet all your needs if getting away from it all, while enjoying spectacular mountain views and local attractions is your desire.
The space
Cozy, warm, and clean guesthouse with a gorgeous view! The Nook features 1 King Bed, 1 bathroom, and a fully stocked kitchen space with brand new appliances, which makes preparing meals a breeze. There’s a small living space with couches to lounge on and a smart TV. We included a coffee bar with a Keurig and assortment of K-Cups for your enjoyment while watching the breathtaking sunrises from your private deck. You are welcome to use and enjoy the owners fire pit and covered grill area, while continuing to be amazed by the incredible views.
The Nook is perfect for a couple looking for a romantic mountain getaway. It might be cramped for a group of more than two people, but we do have available a twin pillow top blow up mattress, for small children if needed upon request. This is an 840 sq. foot open floor plan studio over the owners detached 2 car garage next to the main house.
The Nook is also located 10-15 mins from Mountain City, TN with grocery store, restaurants, gas stations, dollar stores, and antique stores.
Another 20-45mins takes you anywhere from ski resorts, water falls, hiking trails, watauga lake, wineries, breweries, grandfather mtn and historic sites to roaming around the cutest little towns of Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock.
Guest access
The drive up the mountain to the Nook is not difficult, though if it is snowing season, 4WD or AWD is strongly recommended.
The shared driveway to the Nook is paved but steep. As long as it’s not snowing season, 4WD is not required. If you do not wish to park at the bottom of the driveway, there will be a designated spot for your vehicle at the top. Just let us know and we are happy to drive our Side-By-Side up to you and help you with your bags down to the Nook.
The space sits next to the main house which is lived in full time. We will be available to you if needed, otherwise you will have complete privacy. You will have your own separate entrance with easy check in.

1 Vehicle Limit - can accommodate a 2nd vehicle if needed ... Inform owners.
Other things to note
Guests must be at least 25 years old to book our place, or have previous 5 Star host reviews.
Pets are welcome with a pet fee of $30 (2 pet max); please do not leave pets unattended.
Guest WiFi is provided, and there is a bar top w/the best view on the property that will accommodate a laptop, but keep in mind that we are secluded so network connection can be spotty. If you require a strong WiFi connection for the duration of your stay, this may not be ideal.
We do have outside security cameras of the property and alarm system in the main house. There are NO indoor cameras or recording devices.

As we do live in the Main House next to the Nook, we ask for quiet time between 11 pm and 7 am.
